PALMERSTON COURT, BATTERSEA

Situated on the southern side of Battersea Park Road, close to the recently developed Battersea Power Station, Palmerston Court is one of the largest Passivhaus Standard developments in the Europe. This pioneering project comprises three Passivhaus Standard student accommodation buildings and a BREEAM Outstanding commercial building. The development was designed by AHMM for Urbanest and built by Mace.

LOCATION

London SW8 4AJ

CLIENT

Urbanest

SIZE

31,381 m2

The development is a student residential-led mixed-use scheme, comprised of three student accommodation buildings and a dedicated commercial building. The new buildings range in height from 11 to 19 storeys, which are situated above a four-storey podium.

The commercial office space will be capable of supporting a number of university departments and also flexible and affordable working, including space for start-up ventures that will enjoy cross fertilisation with academia. The intention is to create an environment like the successfully delivered BaseKX in St Pancras with University College London.

In addition to providing high-quality accommodation, the project aims to achieve exemplar sustainability credentials, targeting both BREEAM Outstanding and Passivhaus certification, which once achieved, will make it the largest Passivhaus development in Europe.
